So Matt Smith is leaving Doctor Who. I wish I was sad, I wish I could 'mourn' him, but the truth is I never felt anything towards his Doctor. Now, that's probably down to poor writing more than anything else, but his characterisation of the Doctor never clicked with me on any level. I, quite simply, found him incredibly annoying.

But one of my favourite things about Doctor Who has always been that we eventually get someone new. A new interpretation, a new personality. Whilst I didn't enjoy Matt Smith's stint, I'm looking forward to the, hopefully, drastic transition between his Doctor and the next one and what that will do to the show as a whole.

Which is why I've made a list of who I'd love to see get the role~

My 13 choices for the 12th Doctor in descending order.Collapse )

Title: A Rose By Any Other Name
Pairing: Bofur/Fíli
Rating: G
Words: 2976
Disclaimer I do not claim to own any of the characters portrayed. No harm intended.
Summary: Whilst out scouting ahead for the rest of the company, Fíli and Kíli end up landing themselves in a rather sticky situation. Literally. Luckily, as far as Fíli's concerned, there's someone there more than willing to clean up the resulting mess.

For the third time in as many days, Thorin's company found themselves moving through a small, but dense, woodland.Collapse )

Title: A Problem Shared
Pairing: Thorin/Bofur
Rating: G
Words: 1341
Disclaimer I do not claim to own any of the characters portrayed. No harm intended.
Summary: After Bombur falls into the cold, dark waters of the Enchanted river, Bofur's smile dims. This bothers Thorin more than the unseen dangers of Mirkwood ever could.

It was tiring, carrying Bombur's large body between them.Collapse )

François meticulously packed sand into the bright yellow bucket; tight and secure so that when he tipped it over, a castle would hopefully stand in its place.Collapse )

Title: Heat of the Moment (Prompt: Heat)

Rating: G
Words: 1,500

Summary: ”Cevert twisted his foot and was shaken up, but even so he limped up to Scheckter and started a boxing match. The hot-tempered Frenchman who couldn't control his temperament disregarded the fact that Scheckter hadn't taken off his helmet yet and so he twisted his wrist too.” - from The Viking Drivers by Fredrik Petersons.
A/N: One of two ‘missing scenes’ from Snapshots for retro_f1's Summer Challenge 2012.

François was sitting dejectedly on a lonely pile of tyres far away from garages when Jackie found him after the race.Collapse )

Summary: For Alfonso, 1956 proves a turning point in a way he would never have imagined. And it's all there for him to see at the mere turn of a page.
A/N: Loosely inspired by some photos I came across of Fon's original 1955 scrapbook.

Alfonso hadn’t started making a scrapbook with the intention for it to eventually develop into some kind of pet project.Collapse )
